Giada Colagrande - 1975

                 
Giada Colagrande was born in Pescara, Abruzzo. She studied in Italy, Swiss Confederation and Australia, and in 1995 she affected to Rome wherever she began creating video art and documentaries on modern art. From 1997 to 2000, she joined the art project VOLUME, creating a series of video portraits of seven modern artists: Jannis Kounellis, Alfredo Pirri, Bernhard Rüdiger, Nunzio, Raimund Kummer, Gianni Dessí, Maurizio Savini and Sol LeWitt. She created 3 short films: “Carnaval” (1997), “Fetus – four brings death” (1999), and “n.3” (2000). In 2001, she wrote, directed and asterisked in her 1st moving-picture show, Aprimi il Cuore (Open My Heart), that opened at the Venice fete 2002, then was elect by several international film festivals, like the Tribeca fete 2003, in competition, and Paris Cinéma 2003, wherever it won the award Prix DE l’avenir. Giada was conjointly appointive  for Best New Director at the Silver Ribbon 2003. Open my Heart was discharged in Italy by Lucky Red and within the USA by Strand cathartic. In 2005 she directed her second feature Before it Had a reputation, that she co-wrote and co-starred in with Willem Dafoe.

The film opened at the Venice fete 2005, was then showed in city fete and numerous alternative international festivals. it had been distributed worldwide by Millennium with the title spider. In 2010 she wrote and directed her third feature, A Woman, leading Dafoe and Jess Weixler. It conjointly premiered at the Venice fete 2010 then screened at several alternative international film festivals. In 2012, she created the girl Dress, the third short film of the PRADA series The Miu Miu Women's Tales, and completed the feature-length film Bob Wilson's Life & Death of docking facility Abramović, a documentary on the opera directed by Henry M. Robert Wilson, supported docking facility Abramović’s chronicle, leading Dafoe, Antonius Hegarty and Abramović herself.
